Termites

Background

Although Utah is not known for high concentrations of termite issues, it is more common than you might think. Subterranean termite is the most common type of termite in Utah. This type of termite nests underground, and this “worker” type travels out from the nest to search for food sources such as wood inside a home structure. Subterranean termites enter structures through cracks in the foundation, or by creating mud tubes that allow them to travel above the ground. Mud tubes protect termites from destroying weather conditions that can dry them out. Mud tubes in and around the house can indicate the presence of subterranean termites.

If in doubt, call The Inspector for termite testing & a full assessment.
