Our History

Nephi Kemmethmueller built homes and commercial buildings throughout the Wasatch Front and Park City in the 1980s-1990s. As time grew closer to the 2000s, Nephi decided to retire, but this only lasted a short time, for those that know Nephi, he always has a project going on and retirement almost did him in. Giving into the relentless influences of his children, Nephi started The Inspector LLC as a part-time gig in 2002 to cure his boredom. By August of 2003, his part-time retirement job had more clients he could handle so he hired Joel Jones, part-time.

Joel’s Beginnings

In high school, Joel was fascinated with house plans and designs, he took courses that primarily involved architectural drafting. After graduation, Joel found himself in residential construction doing everything from new construction to remodels. Joel has over three and a half decades of experience in concrete, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, framing, etc. What started as a side-hustle with Nephi in 2003, became a full-time career, he eventually became the owner of The Inspector in 2005.

Since 2005 Joel has inspected over 5000 homes in Northern Utah.

Joel has performed over 5000 home inspections throughout the Wasatch Front. He is known for his detailed work, residential expertise, and unsurpassed customer service. He enjoys the details that go into a home and wants to make sure that everyone has access to the best information before the big step of purchasing a home.
